Cairns Eclipse, November 14, 2012

The total solar eclipse occurred on November 14, 2012 at 6:39 am, in Cairns, Far North Queensland, Australia. There was variable cloud cover along the eclipse path, with clearer skies inland. Along the coast, the visibility was a hit and miss affair, with the eclipse only clearly visible during breaks in the cloud cover. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to get enough clear sky to capture most of the eclipse in photos. My photography setup was a Canon 40D with a 250mm telephoto lens, setup on a tripod. I also had a point and shoot digital camera. See photo 1 for the setup.
